MATHEMATICAL AND COGNITIVE SKILLSA classroom environment is created where children are encouraged to develop mathematical concepts and cognitive ability through classroom activities and every day life experiences. Children's mathematical skills are developed through a variety of activities including the understanding of number, shapes and colour concepts. Their cognitive skills are developed through activities designed to improve their thinking and analytical skills.
Children will learn: • to identify and write numbers • to recognize and name different shapes and colours • to recognize patterns and opposites • to match numbers to sets of objectives (number correspondence) • to understand relationships in mathematics and the real world |
