“LEARN THROUGH PLAY PHONICS” CLASSES“To the young child, play is life itself. Play fills mind and body, mentally, emotionally, and physical being. A child engrossed in play is inventive, free, and happy. Though the variety and depth of play, the child learns and grows. It is serious business; it is his world.” (Evans, 1974)
At Starters School we believe that play is vital to the development and growth of children. As children play, they develop many different skills. They can learn to solve problems, develop their fine and gross motor skills and to develop their language and literacy skills. For us, play is a crucial and integral part of a child’s learning process. Our “Learn Through Play Phonics” programme is an extra-curricular activity designed to develop our pupils’ learning skills through play. It explores their unique ability to learn from experience with the environment while promoting their natural ability to learn through play. In this programme our pupils’ progress is also based and assessed on developmental domains, such as personal, emotional, physical and social growth. We offer two afternoon “Learn Through Play Phonics” classes from 1:00 to 4:00pm on daily basis or on part-time basis from one to three times a week. One class is offered to pupils from 2.8 to 4 years old and the other class is for pupils from 4 to 6 years old. These extra-curricular classes are suitable for pupils who attend our morning school or other morning schools. Please refer to the registration page for the respective class fees. |
